Ikeno Taiga (1723-76)
Sitting in my Introduction to Asian Art: Later Traditions class and it's starting to get a bit more interesting, talking about Ikeno Taiga, who had some sort of drinking game in his Orchard Pavilion where they floated wine down a river and a narrator of some sorts would call out a name of a guest and the guest would have to write a poem before the drink arrived down the river. Once the wine came to the guest they would have to read the poem they wrote, if it did not meet the expectations of the host, then they would have to drink. Yum. Thank you Ikeno Taiga.
