I was a thrift store, ikea kind of day
Woke up early today to a call from the other co-captain of the CSULB Ultimate Frisbee team talking about getting a bid into a Las Vegas Tournament we're planning on play in in February. Due to budget cuts, my painting class was canceled today, but for sake of productivity I got up and hit the thrift stores. For painting we're doing our final project on the subject of either social or political issues in basically a free composition, or the theme of paradise lost or found in traditional painting methods. I had finally decided on my topic, which will be global warming and tying in the idea of green living. So in order to get started on my project, i decided to go look for items in thrift stores to help inspire or use in my project. I won't post my idea yet, just in case it changes but I'll try to document my progress. So i went to about 4 thrift stores found somethings for my project, and some stuff that was just fun (aka my worlds best grandpa! trucker hat). After driving around to the different thrift stores I knew of in my area, I went to ikea to purchase a bookshelf we needed for our patio, and happened to pick up a few extra things for the beginnings of my art room. Plans for tomorrow: homework, start building a.) a part of my art final and b.) my art easel. We'll see how that goes, but my day was great, I got to drive home on the 405 north in traffic with my ikea hot dog and root bear, all in a days work.
